CLARIFICATION: TRUMP-RUSSIA STORIES

WASHINGTON (AP) -- In stories published April 6, June 2, June 26 and June 29, The Associated Press reported that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies have agreed that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump. That assessment was based on information collected by three agencies - the FBI, CIA and National Security Agency - and published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which represents all U.S. intelligence agencies. Not all 17 intelligence agencies were involved in reaching the assessment.

CNN's Acosta To Trump: "Fake News" To Question "17 Intel Agencies" Claim; NYT Correction Proves Trump Right

JIM ACOSTA, CNN: The other thing that was fake news coming from President Trump is he said, "Well, I keep hearing it is 17 intelligence agencies who said Russia interfered in the election. I thnk it is only three or four." Where does that number come from? Where does this three or four number come from. My suspicion, Chris and Poppy, is that if we go to the administration, and ask them for this question, I'm not sure we're going to get an answer, and if we do, it will be off camera.

However, the "three or four" figure comes from the correction notes posted by the New York Times and Associated Press this week retracting their claim that all 17 agencies played a part. Acosta must not have read the corrections

Last week, more Americans tuned in to watch re-runs of “Yogi Bear,” “Full House,” and “Friends” on Nick At Nite than to watch Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon’s shows on CNN.

and for flavor:

I like this thread. :D

Edit: now that I think about it, my 'flavor' link is actually more fake news from the POTUS. He claimed "It could have very well been Russia but it could well have been other countries and I won't be specific but I think a lot of people interfered. Nobody really knows. Nobody really knows for sure." Which is obviously false, seeing as the CIA, FBI, and NSA have all confirmed that it was Russia.

Also, I'll stick to stories of the day when I post in here. No reason to go through best hits of Chinese global warming hoaxes and crowd size lies. I'll just talk about the recent obvious lies of the president of the United States. You know. Normal president stuff.

Broadcast news is such a complete failure.  They are as complicit as anyone as to how we ended up with president trump.

Fox and MSNBC are the worst but I honestly believe CNN is more to blame because they have more gravitas than the others and they gave Trump so much free advertising.  Now they are playing his insult game and making themselves news instead of simply reporting about the things that really matter.

CNN is definitely the least to blame since they are the only ones that reported the actual news.

Now to blame them for sensationalizing it then maybe.

I think the bigger problem is how dumb Americans are that believe it when Trump spouts out a gigantic lie and then calls legit news against him "Fake News" like he does almost every day.

It is no coincidence that he and his admin are trying to cut education funding, they wouldn't want people to be smart enough to smell their bullshit.
