Are pitching staff injuries unprecedented in baseball history?

I am not certain whether or not there was a brief period when Bedrosian, Shoemaker, and Norris were on the DL at the same time, but if so, one could subjectively argue that  the Angels top eight pitchers on their ideal 25 man roster were all on the DL at the same time.

Regardless, it is still very bizarre that all five starting pitchers are on the DL at the same time for this long a time..

I wonder how often this happens? I imagine it is extremely rare.

I would not be surprised if the Angels are setting a depressing ML record with the most total days that all five starting pitchers on one team have collectively been on the DL in one year.

The silver lining is that they are at.500,, even without Trout.

This team has no business being anywhere near .500, so they are doing something right. The team's heart and effort can not be doubted.
