The ball hit the dirt, that makes it a dead ball foul. That asshole refused to let Scioscia inspect the ball or ask for help from the one umpire that could see the play. That is so fucked up.

The days where Scioscia gets tossed is long gone.  He just doesn't care anymore.

I do agree with Rojas though that the 3rd base ump should immediately make the right call whether the home plate ump asks for help or not.  It's about getting the call right, not showing up the umpire.

Umpires are way too concerned about getting shown up these days.
