Okay, I would support a weekend dedicated to gonorrhea awareness.

I can kind of relate to yk on this. We can all get behind cancer research and charity but did it have to be on these days? It turns a nice opportunity to spend a quality Sunday with your parent/children into just another day with somebody's hand in your wallet. Take a couple days in August

On one hand it's a handful of days in a season of 162 games...on the other hand you now have special jerseys for sale! Patriotic jerseys...momma jerseys...daddy jerseys...

 

Enjoy them while you can, within the next decade or so you'll see soccer style jerseys replacing the team name across the front with large advertisements.

Listen, the people bitching about the hats and the jerseys probably don't buy the regular hats and jerseys.  These are guys who have their enjoyment of the game ruined somehow by different color jerseys.  It's a gayer opinion than 5 Adams having sex with 3 Adams.

This thread reminds me of the "Stand up to Cancer " thread during the World Series.

Everyone knows someone effected by cancer and more money is needed for research. Awareness is good.

I don't think the issue is taking a couple of weekends for cancer awareness, although if you're not aware of cancer you should crawl back under your rock. The issue is hijacking Mothers and Fathers Days and turning them into donation shakedown weekends
