CJ was very good tonight. Sosh pulled him in the 7th, but CJ wasn't showing any signs of fatigue. His line was 6.1 IP, 12 K, 2 ER, 7 H and 2 BB. He threw 79 strikes out of 114 pitches. That's hardly his annoying self. His catcher let him down.

Yet he couldn't make a big pitch when it mattered... Again.

Weaver doesn't give up a tater in that situation. That's the difference between them

I will take this CJ all season though. Just get a catcher back there to whom defense isn't a 4 letter word.

It's frustrating that a 25 year-old former first round pick is still that far away from being a serviceable catcher.
