He was also the product of a broken home, a petty criminal, and notoriously uneducated -- he was completely illiterate.   But yes, it would be wise to give Adell the time he needs.

Adell said he wanted to be on a team that really wanted him. I'm thinking Trout needs to greet him at Anaheim and show him his future locker next to his. That should go a long way to say, we really want you here. Now lace them up and get ready, Jordon.

I get this feeling 9 other teams GMs will be talking about how they had Adell on their draft board but needed someone else, and the other 20 GMs will say he would have been their first pick as Adell picks up his ROY at age 20.

I thought about the same thing. 

His overall tools give him the potential to be the best player taken in the draft when looking back 5 years down the road.

Wasn't Trout like 185 lbs or something when we drafted him? Then I remember the comparisons being made when he was in the minors and even called up. How he'd never hit more than 20 HR more like a 10 HR guy.

Ya but there is a difference between showing a lot of promise against top high school talent, and playing in the big leagues. Obviously there is inherent risk with every high school pick, this guy just has mammoth upside.
