ISIS leader al-Baghdadi reportedly killed in air strike

Syrian state media is reporting he was killed in Raqqa. The reports are unverified at the moment. There are heavy airstrikes in and around the city.

Mods can delete the thread if this proves to be a false alarm.

But the Russians aren't absolutely sure they got him because there's apparently very little, if anything, left of him.

ISIS has destroyed an historic mosque in Mosul where al-Baghdadi first declared his caliphate in 2014, rather than letting it fall into the hands of Iraqi forces who are retaking the city.
