Actually when I realized the game ended on a DP I just laughed out loud.  The way things have been a game ending DP is just all too fitting.

 

I still remember watching games and not caring if we win or lose...back in those so-so years in the late 90s and early 00s (except 02, of course).  It was relaxing to just simply enjoy a game of baseball.

Howie GIDP's to end it?  That was almost scripted. 

 

Leading the league in GIDP, outs on the basepaths, defensive futility.

Near the bottom in categories related to RISP, and almost everything pitching related? 

Lots of injuries including our best pitcher and one of our best hitters.
