MEASURE EE: QUALITY SCHOOLS FOR ALL

https://www.utla.net/measure-ee-quality-schools-all

The tax would be a new annual assessment of 16 cents per square foot on property owners’ habitable indoor space (for example, floors on a multi-story building, a main residence plus an accessory dwelling unit, or the total square footage of a high-rise building). Over half of homeowners would pay less than $240 per year.

I got my sample ballot today.  I like how this is the only thing on the ballot.  Easiest way to get it to pass is to make it so that no one cares.  And they can pass it under the radar.

LOL.  So I was listening to something.  Can't remember if it was on the boob tube or interwebs.  But they were talking about why Measure EE was so desperately needed.  And their reasoning was, they need EE, because they need to find a way to pay for the recent teachers raises.

So quality schools for all is a bunch of BS.

We knew that when we voted for the lottery under the guise of helping schools which did nothing for them.  How we keep falling for that one is mind blowing.

Measure EE Is Dead: Voters Reject Parcel Tax To Fund LAUSD

Quote

Election night results showed Measure EE, an LAUSD proposal for a new tax to generate operating revenues for the district's schools, falling short of the necessary two-thirds majority it needed to pass.

As of early Wednesday morning — with 100% precincts reporting, but additional vote-by-mail ballots to still count — the measure hadn't gained approval from even half of the voters.

Yes, hopefully it derails this additional tax the Dems want to impose.

Quote

Many statewide political groups saw the Measure EE campaign as a dry run for a so-called "split roll" proposal on the November 2020 ballot, which would modify California's Proposition 13 to force commercial properties to pay more property taxes to fund local governments, including school districts.

I was shocked to learn that this measure was defeated.

I'm guessing it's because it would hit everyone in the wallet.  If they can get another one on the ballot to raise taxes on people making over a certain amount I'm sure the voters will pass that like state voters did in 2012.  I'd like to think it's because people realize the money doesn't all go to education, there's little correlation between money spent and results and it boils down to what kids do or don't get at home but I know that's not it.

So it was racism thing and people still love forking their money over to the government.
