I just drove up and down the 99 freeway this past week through the central valley and the homeless are everywhere now. It seems like it's gotten exponentially worse over the past 2 or 3 years. This is a disaster for the entire state of California

When you announce everything is free, the entire country is going to move to your area.  Is it really a disaster when you are cleaning a loaded gun and pointing it at your head?

This looked familiar but I checked and realized it was MacArthur Park, just down the street where everyone used to go for fake IDs back in the day.  Then when I was in law school it was the go to place for cheap, knock off cigarettes.

I got my fake ID on Olvera Street back in the day. A bouncer at The Cowboy Boogie ripped the laminate off and threw it on the ground about a year later. Got into Malarkey's and Stag Bar plenty of times with it though.

Los Angeles top prosecutor to erase gang unit, sources say

Los Angeles County's top prosecutor is re-imagineng, re-naming and downsizing to eliminate a unit within his office that handles gang-related cases, sources told Fox News.

The unit is slated to be "de-centralized" under George Gascon's leadership, with a number of prosecutors expected to be transferred to other units. The hardcore gang unit currently has around 700 active cases.

Branch offices will get a "Special Trial Lawyer/Gang Coordinator" to assist with prosecutors absorb the cases. No new gang or gun allegations will be filed.

The controversial changes come amid a series of criminal justice reforms implemented in the months since Gascon took office that has sparked nationwide backlash.

Gang units tend to target minorities so that is racist

Crime is exploding in LA says the sheriff's department

Murders in Los Angeles County have spiked nearly 200% so far this year compared to the same time in 2020, with at least one official blaming the "defund the police" movement and progressive law enforcement officials.

There were 60 people murdered in L.A. County as of Feb. 28 – a 186% jump from the 21 killings reported during the same period in 2020, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told Fox News in a segment that aired Thursday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told Fox News criminals are emboldened by District Attorney George Gascón's progressive policies and stressed that people must understand that such elections will have consequences.

My good buddy is an LAPD officer, and it terrifies me how much shit/red tape he has to deal with. He deals with MS-13 gang members on a daily basis and is always in some sort of altercation or fight with criminals who should’ve been locked up in the first place.

The city has crumbled.

Judge orders LA to offer shelter for homeless on Skid Row

A federal judge overseeing a sweeping lawsuit about homelessness in Los Angeles on Tuesday ordered the city and county to find shelter for all unhoused residents of Skid Row within 180 days and audit any spending related to the out-of-control crisis of people living on the streets.

In a fiery 110-page order, Judge David O. Carter slammed officials' inability to restrain the unprecedented growth of homelessness that has seen encampments spread into nearly every neighborhood in the region.

"All of the rhetoric, promises, plans, and budgeting cannot obscure the shameful reality of this crisis — that year after year, there are more homeless Angelenos, and year after year, more homeless Angelenos die on the streets," Carter wrote in granting a preliminary injunction sought by the plaintiffs last week.

The judge's filing was made a day after Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti vowed to spend nearly $1 billion in the coming year to get people off the streets. Carter on Tuesday ordered "that $1 billion, as represented by Mayor Garcetti, will be placed in escrow," with a spending plan "accounted for and reported to the Court within seven days."
