@Make Angels Great Again This is the kind of poll I'm talking about.

I believe it. Eventually California is going to price out everyone except the super rich.

And the thing is, it's not just the house prices.  But it's the yearly taxes that go with it.  If they ever repealed Prop 13 like they want to, Calolfornia would see a collapse unlike any other.

The teachers union will try again with another Prop 15-like tactic in 2022 or 2024.  And this will kill small business.  Was remarkable to me that the Anti-15 crowd didn't hammer home that you're not getting increased property taxes from commercial/industrial landlords, but rather most leases are triple net, meaning the leasee is responsible for taxes, insurance and CAM charges.  This state has a spending problem.

You really can beat the natural beauty of this state. You could ride your dirt bike in the morning, do some snowboarding mid afternoon and go surfing in the early evening. Probably be a bit tiring though

Just allow 1 hour each for the activities and 4 hours driving time in between.

If you live in Costa Mesa it's theoretically possible to get up really early and trailer your bikes out to Soggy Dry Lake, avoiding traffic. You can ride your bikes for awhile and then shoot up the 18 to Big Bear for your snowboarding. Finally you can try to make it back down to the beach for some surfing and you'll be close to home.

Hell why not take in a ballet and some bird watching while they’re at it

"Money isn’t the only challenge schools face. On Monday, some parents kept their kids home from school and held demonstrations to protest Gov. Gavin Newsom’s student vaccine mandate."

"And although schools next year will start providing free meals to all students, they aren’t required to make dietary accommodations for religious beliefs — which could disproportionately impact Muslim students, CalMatters’ Joe Hong reports."

Gotta blame the anti-vaxxers and lay the groundwork for a bigger menu of free meals.  After seeing locally how the private schools handled the pandemic and some of the changes they've implemented in public schools I'll definitely be putting my kid in a private school.

Being mad about good nutritious lunches being provided for all school age children is a truly demented thing i see people stewing about.  Really great shit.

Kids should learn to pick themselves up by their bootstraps. When catwhateverhat was a child in 1895, he worked 16 hours a day in the factory just for a piece of bread to feed his entire family. We should to back to that.

It seems like he’s mad that they might be sensitive to certain minorities dietary restrictions.   I get it.  Offering like cheese AND pepperoni pizza (holy shit can you imagine if they set the ground work for this and do it !? What the fuck ?! I do not consent)  along with some fruits or veggies is really major coddling.  Sucks to teach the babies to be free loaders by feeding them when they’re uhh in 6th grade.  Imagine how insane it is for the high schoolers.

I’m not totally against free lunches for all kids. Of all the things we piss away tax dollars on this doesn’t bother me. Now these dollars don’t need to be exclusive  to lunches served by unionized labor. Honestly free lunch for all probably helps the middle class for once. They may finally be able to afford the Jordons all the welfare kids wear to school

I bet our definitions of this word are different

Adam Smith said, "There's no such thing as a free lunch."

So no, it's not "free" because someone has to pay for it. But seriously; of all the things to pay taxes for, isn't feeding children like the one thing even the most conservative libertarian would be okay with?

The other option is to redisribute wealth more aggressively so that food insecurity is a thing of the past. But that's socialism.

The best option involves people getting off their ass and working for their food. This another area libs don’t use the shame game to call out deadbeat parents.

Yeah, and their children should pay for the sins of their parents. It's biblical.

As a conservative, I’m fine with good meal programs for kids at school. Many kids have really shitty dickhead parents that don’t feed them. They have no control over that. They also do better in school when they eat well. As far as money towards education, I don’t know what the hell they waste most of it on
