Let's just hope it's a dead arm. but seriously, Skaggs would have been out of the inning with no hits allowed and just one walk if it wasn't for Escobar's 2-out, no runners on throwing error that opened the flood gates. 

That said, Skaggs couldn't throw a strike to save his life after that throwing error. Hoping it's nothing but first appearance jitters.

Really not too worried about his velocity in his first outing in Spring Training. 86-88 would suggest he's just getting stretched out, getting his work in. Now if it was 80-84 then we'd have a legitimate problem. Skaggs sits 91-94 normally, and he'll probably be there by the end of Spring Training.

With a kid like Skaggs who has a future here, and has experienced injuries and set backs, you almost have to expect the Angels to keep pitch counts down and ask him not to throw full throttle until his body is ready.

that's a good point.  He was probably backing off as Chuck mentioned.
