I think it's going to be hilarious when the M's's only win 80 games and everyone realizes Dipoto is all fluff no stuff. His teams look good on paper but hardly ever perform. It'll also be sweet when the Rangers luck runs out and everyone realizes they too are an 80-win team.

This will be a two team race between the Angels and Astros in September.

Not according to an article I saw posted on mlb.com a few days ago. According to them, it's a three team race. Angels and A's not mentioned. Everything went right for the Rangers last year. Just look at their run differential and playoff failure. Everything other than Trout and Pujols (only when he was batting with RISP) went wrong for the Angels. Mariners are still the Mariners until they prove otherwise. Astros look good on paper, but they don't exactly have a proven track record of success either. I would go with the Astros, but the only team I think that has no chance in the A's.

Man I was on Dipoto's side when he left but all these moves he makes are so obnoxious. Both years he's done so much maneuvering yet hasn't really managed to make a great team. I just don't get it. And I believe in team chemistry and if you have 60 new guys every year you can't keep it together

Sometimes I think he panders to the fans and media by making a ton of moves that are arbitrary in nature. Making a move just for the sake of making a move. Having said that, I love the Segura acquisition for Seattle.

Most people don't appreciate just how good Jean is. And if you put him in front of Cano, Seager and Cruz, he's going to score a lot of runs. I'd take .290 15 HR and 35 SB at the top of my lineup any day.

Still, I just don't have a ton of faith in that pitching staff at all. Fading, not too talented and no depth.
