The Angels are going to have a lot of potential options for utility middle infielders. As Scotty noted in his prospect report on David Fletcher rising up pretty fast and Cowart, Fontana, and Johnson in the fold we have solutions moving forward in that department at least.

What has Cowart to lose? I wish him luck with his change in batting stance. The old one obviously wasn't working. If he stays viable in AAA, he can keep his dream alive when he reaches minor league free agency. Then he can try his luck with the Padres or Oakland.

This sounds like desperation,  which is reasonable.  It's pretty clear Angels are no longer looking at him as a viable option.  As of now I don't think he even gets a bench role.  He needs an insane spring to make teams interested or he's looking at a shorter career than wood.
