Game prep/Batting order

when you guys played, how important was it to your pregame routine and prep to know beforehand where you would hit in the order? i know it messed up my pregame regimen when i didn't know if i would pinch hit, hit 3rd or 4th or wherever (playing at a low level of organized baseball)

appears to me that over the last few years, the angels have had lacked consistency in thier batting order- espescially when compared to other mlb teams. how do you think this affects hitting performance?

The batting order is usualy written up hours before batting practice.

thank you for the chronological explanation. for those using a linear and sequential process, i should have added: affecting preparation from day to day

I found that linear preparation helped even out my swing nice and level.

Chronological prep seemed to affect the timing.

I can't see how any true professional will get "messed" up because his spot in the batting lineup may fluctate. 

 

However, i can see how your batting could be messed up if your playing time  and at bats are limited!

Going to the game and knowing you are going to bat means you have to metally prepare.  However, going to the game and not knowing if your batting or not could mess with your heads.

Here's how I approach the AW.com softball game.

 

Sit on my ass, sneak some beer in, go up to the plate, rest.

 

Oh yeah and bat out of order like I did in the 6th inning last year.  Awesome.
