Jered Weaver, who is out with a broken left elbow, expected to play catch from 120 feet prior to Thursday's game. Scioscia said the right-hander needs to throw from 200 feet and be able to repeat it before he starts throwing from a mound again....

 

Couldn't Jered have been playing catch and long toss without the use of his left arm? Hell, a Coach could catch the throw toss him the ball and he could throw it back. Does this seem odd to anyone?

 

If I recall correctly, he was doing that, just at shorter distances at that point.

But getting Weave back and seeing what Madson can do when healthy would at least be interesting and maybe entertaining.

It figures that we get the TJ surgery guy who doesn't take just the new normal of one year to come back.

It's now been almost 14 months with no return in sight.
