As he got older. The Tigers were always middle of the pack until about 2007 when it came to spending.

I wonder what this means for the future of the Tigers. They old and expensive but have a run or two left in them but it would probably be smart to sell some of their assets and rebuild. They were hanging on because Ilitch wanted to win one so badly but that may change now.

He certainly deserved better than Jeffrey Loria has gotten. There may be no better indication that the world isn't fair, sometimes.

Guys like Loria do. Mike llitch wanted more than that. He deserved more than that. He spent money. 

Loria never did, really. He would make a show of being committed and then screw the pooch.

At least he got to see his Tigers reach the series twice.  More than Gene ever did.

And there is that Red Wings team where he has his name on the holy grail 4 times.  Oh and he bought that team for $8 million.
