Rolling back the Obama era

Recommended Posts

Good or bad, congress is using various methods to rollback the Obama era.

Lets start with the bad. Congress is rolling back prohibition of people flagged as mentally incompetent from using SS benefits from buying guns

banned Social Security beneficiaries from buying guns if their disability payments are handled by an outside party due to their ‘marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease.’”

See how easy it is for someone with authority to strip a man of his constitutional rights?

Yeah, you just said that and Red was literally in the middle of purchasing a gun and got cock-blocked.  That's exactly how it would happen.

If that's how mental incompetence was identified, you might have a salient point.

Drinking water vs. protecting the dying coal industry?

The Senate voted 54-45 to scrap a rule designed to limit the dumping of mining waste in local waterways. The Stream Protection Rule was put in place by the Department of the Interior in the final days of the Obama administration, tightening standards for contamination of water and restoration of streams damaged by mining operations. The House approved the rollback Wednesday.

Unless you're C. Montgomery Burns, how can you be happy about this?

"Oh so mother nature needs a favor. Well she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys. Nature started the fight for survival and now she wants to quit because she's losing."

I think this is a very gray area.  Denying someone of a Constitutional right due to a disability is not good

so what's to be done here? you're willing to make deadly weapons available to people who are not mentally competent to use them appropriately? why? how many kids in schools have been shot by mentally unstable people who had access to weapons? on in churches, or theaters? where do we draw the line on this one, mt?
