Since my switch seems to be such an obsession, let me explain it.

I like to keep an open mind. After Bernie berned out I took an honest look at the Trump side since I despised Clinton so much, and saw a lot of it made sense. You see, i'm not too prideful to admit when i'm wrong, unlike many others around here *cough* @red321 *cough*. I actually watched this 2 hour long youtube video of Peter Schiff confronting occupy wall street protestors and explaining economic policy to them (deregulation, the waste of a lot of government departments etc). I thought he made a lot of sense.

Schiff takes advantage of old people with money. He seems to make sound fiscal sense but when his ideas are held to the fire his philosophies fall apart because there is no nuance. The reason there is no nuance is because his hardline stance speaks to the no-nonsense elderly who gladly give him their money to "manage". I can't knock his hustle. He is a brilliant salesman.

I think he's really smart but at the end of the day he's selling. Tough to put too much trust into what he says.

Ok, and thoughts on the following sentence?

Here is how I see it and maybe I am seeing it wrong.  Most of the time the largest factor in the price of something is the labor involved in manufacturing it.  So, if Mexican minimum wage is $4 an hour and our minimum wage is over $10 an hour, even with a 20% tariff it will still be more affordable than the American version of the same product.

I'm no economist, but i'm sure there are plenty of other factors involved in regards to what determines the shelf price. As long as there is competition I would think that should determine the final price. Unless the Mexican goods are the absolute cheapest out there or if there is a monopoly on their respective market. Maybe i'm totally off base, but I think the companies would definitely see a hit from the tariffs.
