I'm very surprised he pardoned  commuted her  his sentence.

I am not a fan of this.  Bradley Manning should serve the prescribed sentence for his treason.  

That said, we'll see what that piece of shit Julian Assange does now.  He said he would surrender to authorities if Manning was released.  I'm not holding my breath.

This really sends a bad message to anyone who has top secret information.  Actually a good message for them, since hey they can profit from the information they know.  And you get to become a chick for free too.

Not actually a pardon. It's a commutation of the remaining sentence.
