Gus Bradley countdown to firing thread

One of the worst kept secrets in the league is that Jacksonville Jaguars' coach Gus Bradley will be hitting the unemployment line just as soon as the clock runs out in Game 16. Incredibly, a coach who the Philadelphia Eagles were set to hire had Chip Kelly not had a sudden change of heart has managed to make the Jags worse in four years than they were when he took over. It has gotten to the point that many friends back home, who have been season ticket holders since the beginning, almost don't care about rumors that the team may leave town. I don't know who they will hire, but the last two coaches who they fired seem to be doing just fine (Oakland's Jack Del Rio and Tennessee's Mike Mularkey). Word is that team ownership has been talking to Tom Coughlin, the team's first coach, about a possible front office job.

Jaguars blew a double-digit lead at Houston with the Texans playing a backup QB. It's past time for this to be over.

It is officially over. Shad Khan wanted to at least finish out the season before making a change, but seeing a double-digit lead wiped out by the other side's backup QB was apparently the final straw. From the Jaguars' official website:

Bradley can't say that he wasn't given time. In four years, he had the lowest winning percentage of any coach in NFL history who coached that long. The biggest question to be answered is whether Blake Bortles is the victim of poor coaching, or if he is just the latest in a long string of squandered high draft picks.

The Jaguars have a chance to reach another dubious milestone: If they lose to Tennessee on Saturday (and I'm counting on it), they will become the first team in franchise history not to win a home game in a season. Only Jacksonville and Cleveland have not won a home game in 2016.
