Your logic here is puzzling. A bad GM doesn't get good enough players, but it's Sosh's fault for not turning them into champions? How is that supposed to happen?

My earliest recollection was watching a little of the 1965 WS with the Dogs/Twins in my 4th grade classroom, thanks to the teacher turning it on on the classroom tv.
