For a major leaguer he's 100% average or worse.  He's still better than us, but compared to his peers, he's not any better than average.  Like most major league talent he's capable of good runs.

Very small sample size but Chacin hasn't been bad out of the pen....need to see some more to decide if he is a legit option for next year....with the injuries, he'll get some chances...

Chacin has a 2.08 ERA out of the pen with far better peripherals than as a starter.

If Chacin is willing to accept the role next year he's a good option as the 6th starter/long man since expecting Rasmus to last more than a week or two seems pointless.

The only thing holding Chacin back from a permanent pen position is salary. If he agrees to pen money instead of Chacin another starting gig.
