Twins acquire Santiago

The trade looks like it'll end up being a big meh.....Nolasco was good last year but reverted to form this year, Meyer clearly had/has a lot of upside but can't stay healthy and Santiago just isn't very good (or healthy).....I thought it was a bad deal when made but when Meyer was healthy this year, you see why Eppler wanted him....In the words of the bard, the trade was much ado about nothing (or very little)...

I guess it comes down to if Busenitz somehow becomes a rock in the backend of the Twins pen down the road.   Not great odds on that though

Forgot all about him....wouldn't that be something if he turns out to be a serviceable major leaguer.....pretty good numbers this year:  http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=641427#/career/R/pitching/2017/ALL

I am fine with this trade. I may regret saying it but Meyer is the primary focus here. The Angels needed to bring in a higher quality position or pitching prospect and they have done that while maintaining pitching depth with Nolasco.

Barring a complete meltdown by Meyer I think this trade is a win for the Angels.

I caveat'ed so I'm good. :D
