I think Meyer is broken. Very few innings last year, only 3 starts this year.

Watch.  Santiago will be waived.   No one will claim him.  And Minnesotta will trade him before the waiver deadline for 3 big prospects.

For Joe Smith? Yeah, that actually makes sense. Dude's a middle reliever due to become a FA a few months from now and hasn't been particularly good this season. He doesn't have dominating stuff and isn't striking batters out.

I'm more puzzled about the Santiago trade. Don't like it at all

On a serious note I'll wait until the proverbial dust settles from the trade deadline but Santiago for those 2 seems like a pointless move and initial reaction is I'd rather the Angels have kept Santiago.  

Getting anything for Smith is okay in my book.  The Angels aren't going anywhere this year and he would be gone at the end of the season.

I'm with posters here about Smith.  I didn't expect much but Santiago only bringing back a 33 year old pitcher and a failed prospect is baffling.

 Castillo doesn't look that bad.  Would rather make a trade like that than for a journeyman in AAA.

Not even a top 30 prospect for the Cubs. Glad to see were getting garbage for smith and Santiago while the Brewers for a top prospect for will fucking smith.
