Interesting read.  So true though.  Seems the bridge deal is indeed dead.

If this leads to Murray trading Lindholm, i hope he gets fired & they hire a new GM. Worse possible move Murray could ever make while Getz/Perry are still under 36

Starting to think fans should create a petition for them to sign Lindholm & make him the long term signed D-man on the team.

Financial limitations is still financial limitations.  If Lindholm is looking for top dollar, I say trade him and get something really good for him.  This is what Chicago has been doing well at the last few years.  Although in their case, it's more of they can't afford people due to the cap. 

Personally, I think we have enough D that trading Lindholm won't be that big of a hit.  Although I would rather trade Despres, and his 5 year deal instead. 

And when you are $9.1 million under the cap, and still haven't signed Lindholm and Rakell, and you need 1 or two wingers.  I think this season, we might be close to the cap. 

And if you look further.  2017-18, we are only $17 million under the cap.  We get more relief in 2018-2019 and after.

yup.  Players union will ignore their vets and look for their kids to get big deals.
