2016 Offseason Moves around the NHL

LOS ANGELES -- Milan Lucic was traded from the Boston Bruins to the Los Angeles Kings on Friday for goalie Martin Jones, defense prospect Colin Miller and the No. 13 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

 

That's a brutal price to pay for a wasted year of Lucic.

The only thing that hurts is the draft pick imo. 

Jones would have been traded anyway....

According to sporttrac, the lightning are right at the cap right now.  So they are going to have to clear some room you would think.  Especially their RFA's.

They just signed their other goalie to $3.5 million per.  Minimum they have to ship Bishop off.

I just realized something.  Looking at the Cap space for the Lightning.  They are up to the cap right now.

But for 2017-2018, currently, they have more cap space available than the Ducks.  /sigh

Lightning are ridiculously talented.  But I dont see how they pay everyone long term.  Bishop going somewhere else probably is just the start.

With the silly-money being thrown around today, i'm a little bit happy the penguins are against the cap and couldnt get involved. Some first line money headed to third line players.
