There is speculation the injury happened when he and Manson collided. He limped off the ice. He had emergency surgery, some rumors that it was for compartment syndrome.

The hit that appeared to injure him looked pretty harmless. I don't wish injuries on anyone but this is a huge break for the ducks.

Yea and now they're making him address the media after the game.  Apparently some people thought he should be suspended.  How fucking ridiculous.  Do these people have no fucking clue what's said between the lines ?  Way worse then "cock sucker" that's for damn sure.  Even in high school.  This was completely a non issue before the NHL made it one this morning.  Great PR work.

With Rakell out now tomorrow as well as possibly Gibson I don't feel great about our chances.  Nashville is hurt as well, but last nights game was a real bummer.  Incredible to me how they play so dead when presented with opportunity.  Anyway we'll see.  They've still got a decent shot tomorrow.  If it goes 7 anything can happen.

How many periods have the Ducks actually played well in? If my memory serves right they were horrible most of the first game, had a great 2nd period in game 2, crap again in game 3, played decent for maybe half of game 4, and complete shit again game 5. Can't just be taking games off in the playoffs.
