I like the SLC radio play by play guy who filled in for Smith this weekend

I like Terry Smith and Mark Langston.  Often some of the sub announcers are fun to listen to, such as Bobby Grich earlier this season.  Everyone comes at it from a unique angle.  I enjoyed listening to Steve Klauke.  I thought he called a good game, and could listen to him more..

Langston is top notch.  He remembers how pitchers work certain hitters and discusses what pitches the Angels and opposing pitchers routinely do, noting when they work from a different side of the rubber and things the casual listener or viewer doesn't hear or watch  Very informative.

Yeah, I oftentimes mute the TV play by play and stream via my MLB at bat app so I can listen to Langston. I don't mind Terry Smith either.

I like the radio guys. Steve was competent and did well. Most of his anecdotes, naturally, were about players in the minors.

Back in the day, Rory and Terry used to split PBP on the radio. When Rory was on, Terry would often stay on the mic and do some backup "color". I really enjoyed those two together.

Yes. Terry Smith talks through the action to much. That May be ok for TV but on the radio you hear the action from the play and Terry is still talking about something else. His timing is off. Terry does have the better voice though compared to the SLC guy which is a little tinty.

Yeah, I'd like to see Langston paire with Rojas and Gooby sent to KC for a Hudler to be named later.

And sgitcan Rohelio Chavez ASAP

I listen to a lot of Angel radio broadcasts and I like Terry and Langston. They are, imo, waaaaay better than our TV team. Steve was very good filling in for Terry, but I don't think he's any better. You have to remember that the series in Seattle was an exciting three game sweep that was unexpected and therefore very entertaining which gave Steve an opportunity to excel..Terry hasn't had that opportunity much this season.

The only gripe I have with Terry is that he doesn't give the score often enough. When you're on the road and listening in the car you often tune in during the middle of an inning and you have to wait a long time for him to give the score. Langston is very good and offers a lot of insight and is well informed..I've liked his work from the beginning. He could replace Gubi and we'd have a much better TV team.
