Heaney too. "The ligament is sound. It's fatty, intact, and healthy".

Now he has ligament damage.

Is that the law?? Doc, please explain to us knuckleheads over here.

So the Angels medical staff is telling the Angels PR department the correct injuries and the Angels PR is lying to everyone? Is that what you are saying?

From MLBTR with a recent (2 hours ago) update:

12:10pm: Angels GM Billy Eppler tells reporters that Heaney was examined by multiple doctors, with opinions ranging from “normal wear and tear” to “some degree of tear.” (Twitter links via Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register) For the time being, at least, Eppler said that Heaney will not undergo Tommy John surgery. Heaney, instead, is “opting for conservative care like other pitchers have done.”

So, Heaney saw a number of doctors and received a number of different diagnoses, which is not uncommon.

it's actually kind of entertaining watching these dudes go after dochalo. this is nothing more than new members being unfamiliar with a poster who's been around for a longtime. although, it does seem like they're struggling to break down his screen name, which is weird.

Are Angels' team doctors "covered entities" under HIPAA?

HIPAA = Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Doctors that only accept cash may be completely(?) exempt from HIPAA requirements.  All I'm saying is that people tend to throw around the HIPAA term too loosely.

I am quite sure they have signed confidentiality agreements with the Angels organization, it is the reason you rarely get a quote directly from the medical staff.

I suggest you get the medical records of a famous and/or rich person and release them without their consent. See what happens!

There were no medical records on Sunday, May 1 when Scioscia says that Richards was cramping up because of dehydration.  If saying that his elbow hurts is a HIPPA violation, so is saying that he is dehydrated.  They are both medical conditions.

I'm sure something like that exists between MLB and MLBPA.  But it may not go as far as the draconian HIPAA requirements.

So we all are waiting on the "official" diagnosis, right?

We all know that Richards has the Zika virus.

Don't worry, the new ICD-10 codes have them covered...

V 00.01 - Pedestrian on foot injured in collision with roller skater

W 61.33 - Pecked by a Chicken

Y92.146 - Swimming-pool of prison as the place of occurrence of the external cause

Y92.241 - Library as the place of occurrence of the external cause

Y92.253 - Opera as the place of occurrence of the external cause

Y93.d1 - Accident while knitting or crocheting

Z63.1 - Problems in relationship with in-laws.

So it HAD to be opera as the place of occurrence.

Or pecked by a chicken.

Re: HIPAA, medical staff and I believe training staff are covered by HIPAA, and cannot share any information, even simple stuff, like what city the player lives in, even if it can be found out from other sources. The information can't be hared with anyone, without the consent of the patient, and must be protected essentially forever.
