As Senator? It's the Republicans who put her in the Senate in the first place. If they hadn't blocked her appointment to the Consumer Protection chief she wouldn't have run for Senate in the first place.

Except for the small detail that for the most part, it really isn't.

this editorial is from 2009 that the LA Times recently just reran because it's as pertinent today as it was back then.

*  the tax currently hits fewer than 3 of every 1,000 estates every year and bristles with exemptions and deferments for the rest. 

*  more than 99.7% of all estates already are exempt. Perhaps 3,000 Americans who died in 2007 left estates valued from $7 million to $10 million

* the number of taxpayers who died in 2007 leaving estates worth more than $10 million was 1,700. Their average estate was $31.6 million

*  Most of the assets in taxable estates (85%, according to the IRS) are capital holdings such as stocks, bonds and other property on which the owner has never paid federal tax.

*  family farms can be valued for estate tax purposes as working farms, not as real estate, which cuts their tax liability sharply. The tax on most farms and businesses, moreover, can be paid over as much as 15 years

 

 

I would certainly agree that if there are small business and farms negatively impacted, that should be addressed...but most of this death tax crap is nothing more than an attempted giveaway to the top 1%

I don't care if its $50 or $5 Billion, its stealing.  To justify it by saying "they can afford it" is basically a robber justifying stealing from rich people.

You are a little dense on this subject. She is Hillary's pit bull, snapping at everything. When Queen Hillary receives her crown her loyal subjects will get positions they want in government. Warren is going to have first pick of a position of power.

I'll speak slow, since you seem to be struggling with it...she already has the position she's best suited for and feels she can have the most lasting impact. She's a Senator in Massachusetts...a position she can have for life if she wants it, and she is one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress. I think she'll have a lot more fun tormenting folks like yourself for two more terms in the Senate than a go round in the Clinton administration.
