Usually they get them past their prime (Pujols/Hamilton style). Norman is not past his prime.  It's a major need for their secondary

Psh...solid player on a great defense...that contract is for someone who has been doing this their whole career not the last 1.5 seasons..

Haynesworth was a selfish POS that only cared about $$. Norman doesn't strike me as that type. I could be wrong though so time will tell. Just because you've been burned before doesn't mean you never take a chance on really good player in FA.
