Shouldn't the lineup be...

Recommended Posts

Trout - LF

Hamilton - RF

Pujols - 1B

Trumbo - DH

Kendrick - 2B

Ianetta - C

Jimenez - 3B

Romine - SS

Bourjous - CF

Yes/No?

Hamilton gets better pitches.  Pujols has Trumbo has protection behind him.

Trout seemed to hit better as a Leadoff than a #2 hitter.

Anywho its ridiculous how jeckyl/hyde this group is.

Only a lunatic (no offense) would put a .226 hitter with a monsterous strike out rate in the number 2 spot and a guy hitting .313 with a .836 ops in the 9th.

The #2 spot should be a contact hitter that can bunt if necessary. I know the evil B word but for years the Angels offense was driven by good contact hitters in the #2 spot. Trout is more of a pick and choose hitter so him leading off makes more sense than forcing him into a role of situational hitting which takes away from his skill set at the plate.

So in my lunitic lineup it would have to take into account present performance.

Bourjous - CF

I know, I just said a .313 hitter shouldn't bat 9th and Jimenez is htting .333 however he is a complete unknown in terms of knowing the role he needs to take and would be better served as a rookie replacement in a lower stress position in the order.

The only problem here is ego and Hamilton is not going to go willingly into the 6th position even though his at bats says he should ride pine. This is probably one of the reasons he maintains his postion in the order, overpriced ego stroking. I'm not that nice of a guy when it comes to coaching, earn your slot or sit.

It is too late in the season to keep putting the wrong guy in the #4 spot. He is welcome to earn his position back or be another Vernon Wells but price tag should never determine what role a player fullfills.

Nice Blargio ... don't you think it's a little too early in the season to bail ship with Hamilton? It was just the other day most here were crying on Kendrick for not being clutch.

$125M for a #6 hitter  lol
