Well he has a solid OBP, and the stat has been a fan of his defense and base running so far. Our expectations are incredibly high.

Shoemaker has pitched 6 very good innings but has thus far received no support from the offense.

Defensive stats bounce around a lot. There is a good chance he doesn't add any additional defensive value to his WAR the rest of the year. If you take out the defense he's on pace for about 3.5.

Actually Shoemaker isn't pitching too bad, we just can't hit Latos. I think we must be Latos intolerant.
