Anyhow, you miss the irony here, evidently. The word "socialist" means different things to different people, not to mention that there are different variations and degrees. What is naive--in a let's-buy-the-FOX-propaganda-sorta-way--is equating all Socialism with some weird and unholy mixture of Venezuela and Stalinist Russia. That is not the Democratic Socialism of Bernie Sanders or of Western Europe.

I see it as "the government will take care of you" type of mentality. It's really, really, really simple.

You realize we pay taxes, right? I'd rather those taxes go to things that actually benefit most/all citizens--like health care and education--than to wars to fill the pockets of defense contractors and re-inforce imperialism.

It isn't about the government taking care of us as much as the money we give to the government going towards things that actually benefit us as human beings - not just serving the corporate oligarchy.

I'd rather neither of those things. I'd rather pay significantly less taxes. It's better for everybody.
