Except the point of my post that even of Bernie is a good guy,which I get the vibe that he is, the massive power he grants the government will eventually be abused by not so good guys.

 

Yes, this is possible - even inevitable, at least to some degree.

 

But two questions:

 

1. How do you see him giving the government more massive power than it already has? What specifically about his platform greatly increases the power of the government?

2. Do you see it as possible that the abuse of power in the private sector might be balanced or lessened due to Bernie's platform?

As usual with libertarianism, it is woefully naive and limited in perspective, but makes an important point that liberals often miss and should be part of the conversation.

Either way, the point that people need to learn how to take responsibility for themselves, which is something that liberals often push aside or minimize. On the other hand, cons often over-emphasize this and minimize, ignore, or simply not understand context.

I hate the theory that people who come from money have an advantage at that that somehow makes it unfair. No shit. Guess what, if we were even more socialist people with money would still have an advantage. I grew up as the youngest of four, my parents both worked. My dad had an electrical engineering degree and worked in aerospace with his degree until the late 60's/early 70's when there were a ton of layoffs. After that he couldn't get back into the industry and never used his degree again. My dad then went and worked for Yellow Cab in Anaheim and my mom was a telephone operator. Neither of these professions paid much, and we basically rented houses or apartments my entire childhood. When I got a job in high school, I paid my parents for my portion of the cable bill and phone bill. I paid for my own car and my own insurance. I didn't have anything handed to me and I didn't like college, so I went to work for a living. More times than not you have to go out and earn it. If you look at the obstacles instead of the opportunity more times than not you will fail and point the finger.

Wait, so there are jobs and Obama didn't ruin the country.  When you turn on your show tonight Hannity will have some bogus unemployment number to throw out there.  So which is it, is the unemployment high because people are too lazy to work or the unemployment is high because Obama made them lazy.  I think I just answered yes and yes for you.  

 

I bet the reason Trump hires illegals and has his manufacturing in other countries is because libs are too lazy to work at his places, that would be another asked and answered yes for you.
