I don't believe threads in the Spin forum should ever be locked unless it's one of the following:

 

1. SPAM (This should just be deleted)

2. Duplicate thread (The merge tool should be exercised)

3. Personal attacks (only to have posts edited or deleted, then unlocked thereafter) 

4. Material that has nothing to do with politics (should be moved to the appropriate forum rather than being locked). 

 

* I liken forum topics/threads and discussions here to what you see in political debates. When the politicians are asked a question by the moderator, the answers rarely stay on point by the politician(s) who are attempting to answer. These questions get derailed all the time.
