The Washington Post comments section today is full of people blaming Bush, and even Reagan, for the Syrian war.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest tried to convince reporters today that these are not "combat troops", and that the president's previous statements ruling out boots on the ground were "taken out of context".

So in other words.  We have "advisers" there to advise people who are vastly outgunned by the Russian/Iranian/Syrians.  And who lack the motivation of ISIS, in which they are "supposed" to be fighting, instead of the government.  

 

This is a great solution to a problem that is best left for other to solve.
