In each of the last three seasons, the 29-year-old has registered a 1.000+ OPS. And he’s continued to improve: last season, Park posted career-best numbers in each of the triple-slash categories (.343/.436/.714) and blasted 53 home runs in 622 plate appearances (one year after swatting 52 long balls). There will be questions asked of his strikeouts, though, as Park went down on strikes in about a quarter of his plate appearances in each of the last two seasons.

Any interest?

The Angels never sign international guys so I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd rather have this guy than Cron playing 1B/DH.

Did you miss the part where he struck out 25% of the time in the Korean league? What does that translate to here, 30-33% of the time? Remember when Josh struck out a ton for us, that was 28% of the time.

This time last year, I'd say no. Japanese hitters came across and floundered for the most part (except Ichiro and Matsui, who were both outstanding). They just didn't measure up against the Americans or Dominicans. NBL is a tougher league, I see little reason to believe Korean hitters could come stateside and produce, let alone do so in Japan.

But then Kang came across and was solid. He went from superstar in Korea to above average here. He plays a decent SS/3B, hits for good average, can reach base and has a little bit of pop. It stands to reason that Park's superstar power in Korea could be above average here. Maybe 20-25 HR's or so.

But I think we need to consider the money. Once it was discovered Japanese pitchers could succeed here, the posting fees inflated. Once it was discovered the Cubans could be superstars here, the amount of money again became astronomical. Kang succeeded for the most part. I think we can expect the amount of money Koreans will get will go way up.

I'd expect a mid-market team to shell out tens of millions.

He struck out 161 times in 2015. Mike Trout struck out 158 times in 2015.

newsflash: power hitters strike out a lot.

Sign his ass immediately.

EDIT: Seriously though, this kid can mash. Give him a shot.

But aren't we out of of pennies in our international piggy bank?

The announcer is awesome.

But yea, I'd just be happy to see the org finally be serious about international players. It's been way to long.

i know you're being sarcastic, but i always trip out on people who post highlight videos of a player and then act like they're the greatest player ever. you see it a lot around draft time. i mean, it's a friggin' highlight video people. why not post a video of some kid just killing it in little league? it has as much significance, as any other league at that point.
