And before any dumbass points to his OPS last season and makes a comment of how he would have been the second best hitter on the team, take a look at the mammoth slide in his skills from 2010 - 2014 to see who the real Mark Teixeira is. In 2014 David Freese had a higher OPS+ at 104.

Looks like Mark was too quick with look at the (one) year he had!

Yeah, we don't need his 31 homers, .357 OBP and .906 OPS that he put up this year, F that.

I don't care about his production. I only care that he's a douche that allowed his agent to screw over the Angels and that he now wants to come here and ride is career into the sunset.

The guy has one year left on his contract. Even if he puts up 3/4 of last year's numbers in the power department, he's worth a one year investment.

yeah, but wasn't that in like 45 games? he seems to be injured all the time these days.

i don't want him because he had his chance to be here already but screwed us, plus he's pretty broken down.

although i would think a nice gift basket would be appropriate from us because we got trout because of him. maybe an edible arrangements or something.

Those are inflated Yankee Stadium numbers.

Might as well be Confederate currency

Inflated, yes. But how much? He played half his games there, and his season was cut short. His OBP has little to do with where he plays. He's always had that.

Mark, can you only see last seasons totals and not get past the fact it was the first time since signing with the Yankees in 2009 he has put up an adjusted OPS close to that. That was a run of five years of steady decline before this fluke season.

Also let's not forget he has not had a complete season in the last four years and you think this is a solid aquisition?

I am not sure if you really know the player it is you want to spend the limited payroll on while also trading away assets but Mark Teixeira is not that guy.
