Reports of Israeli aircraft bombing multiple sites in Damascus

 

UNCONFIRMED report that an Israeli jet was downed.

 

UNCONFIRMED report that ambulances are rushing to the Presidential Palace.

I'd slightly disagree.  The people of Libya, Yemen, Egypt, and other countries are living better lives than before the Arab Spring.  Not nearly GOOD lives, but so much better than with Qaddafi, Mubarak and others.

Israel has lobbied Russia not to deliver the S-300 missiles to Syria. Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon warned on Tuesday that Israel would view such a move as a threat and that it could prompt an Israeli reaction. 

“The deliveries have not taken place, I can attest to this, and I hope they do not,” Mr. Yaalon said. “If, by some fortune, they arrive in Syria, we will know what to do.”

Suddenly we have "proof" that Assad used WMD against the rebels, so that's the trigger that forces us to become more involved?  We didn't believe strongly enough in the rebels' cause before, but now we do?  Sorry, this doesn't pass the smell test.
