Astros/Yankees Preview

Tanaka has faced the Astros one time: 5 IP, 6 ER, 3 HR. This will be his second start since returning from a hamstring strain.

 

Girardi is considering not starting either Brett Gardner or Jacoby Ellsbury, both of whom have struggled at the plate in the second half. He may also sit Brian McCann in favor of John Ryan Murphy. McCann has hit .174 since September 1st.

 

Dallas Keuchel is on the mound for Houston. He has faced the Yankees twice this season: 2-0, 16 IP, 0 ER, 21 SO, 1 BB.

Surprised that Ellsbury will start the game on the bench. That takes big balls or stupidity.

Ellsbury has sucked this year and Chris Young kills left handed pitching. Good call.

 

Keuchel on 3 days rest and the shaky Astros bullpen lately worries me. I'll cheer for Houston but I think the Yankees win. Good luck facing Miller/Betances for 3-4 combined innings.

Remember, Keuchel is pitching on short rest. He could be done after 4-5 innings. Ellsbury will still get an at bat or 2 later on.

Go Yankees!  As hard as that is to say, don't want Houston to advance. Don't understand the rooting for your rivals thing or the wanting the team that beat you to advance because it makes your team look better thing either.

I don't care about the division rival...heck they just came into this division, so there isn't any real rivalry there anyhow.

Don't care about the fact that they beat us, because they didn't. The Rangers and ourselves beat us. 

 

Given a choice I will always take the team, and the fans, that has been down the longest without winning much.

On top of that rooting for A-roid would make me severely nauseous.
