In my experience, Scottrade's system is very slow if you're a "day trader."

I buy and sell stocks fairly quickly and being behind just 1 second can cost me a tremendous amount of money.

It doesn't matter what system you use. All day traders are getting front run by by some high frequency trading firm in New Jersey.

You are correct, but that doesn't mean you can't become a successful day trader. It definitely feels rigged most of the time–but, I'd still avoid Scottrade nonetheless.

 

There are so many better alternatives.
