All 30 MLB teams will play simultaneously for Game 162 this year

All MLB games Sunday will be set to start at Noon Pacific Time

MLB hope this forces all teams to "play to win" on the last day of the season.. 

 

 

"If a game impacts another game, they're all occurring at the same time, so no team would be put into a lame-duck situation because their fate already had been decided by an earlier result. If we do have games coming down to the wire, we want to make sure we maximize that day. We're hopeful that the races will come down to the last day of the season. We want to make sure we celebrate the end of the season properly."

Not sure what they can do about weather, but I like the idea.

Still would have to use a starting pitcher that you may have rested if a you clinched based on another team losing earlier in the day. That was the main goal right?

I hope the weather screws up MLB plans as much as possible and the playoffs dont start until mid October.

 

I also hope for a 4 way tie for the 2nd wild card, with the Angels getting the division.

Definitely a good idea, though of course some games (like Yankees and Red Sox) will take 5 hours anyway. But at least they're thinking ahead.

Not a fan. Instead of watching the day develop we have to watch every important game at the same time. I don't expect too many important games this year but in some years this will result in big games not being televised outside of local markets.
