Cardinals Cody Stanley Suspended

The Cardinals promoted catcher Cody Stanley on September 1st as a third catcher and in 9 games he was batting .400. He has been suspended for 80 games for using performance enhancing drugs. In the minors he was suspended 50 games in 2012.

 

He is 26 years old and this probably will be the end of his career.

I won't worried much about his PED use ... it's unfortunate and stupid for the player.

I'd have no player trading for him for a discount if the talent was there. I never heard of him ... so I'm just saying this in general.

Most ex-PED users are still playing up to their numbers. The ones that are weren't hard core users.

If a guy just isn't talented enough to make it to the majors, then there's very little reason beyond ethics that he shouldn't use PHD's.
