Screw these negative topics. I am all in the Angels. We are sweeping Houston.

Sure, let's sweep the Astros. May not do us any good. They already have a 5 game lead and we need the Rangers to lose. But since they're playing Seattle and Oakland, those are basically freebies. At the same time, the Twins decided to stop sucking out of nowhere so we need to pass them too.

I still think the Angels win the Wild Card. The Angels sucked for one month, but they're beginng to resemble a team with some fight left in them. The Rangers and the Twins both suck. If we enter the final 4 game series against Texas within 2 games of them and ahead of the twins, we're going to the playoffs.

Just remember, if the Angels make the playoffs there's no way Scioscia will be gone in the offseason.

If Scioscia wasn't gone after the end of the 2012 or even after the 2013 season, he won't be gone until 2019 at the very earliest.

If I'd had my way he would have been brought back on short leash (two year contract at the very most) after 2008, then probably been released after 2010 followed by the Angels going into a full Astros style rebuild -- new players, managers, everything.

Teams trying to draw 3 million fans every year don't have the luxury of sucking for a decade.

That was perhaps an exaggeration, but it was clear that the franchise was in a bit of a no mans land in 2010, especially after our best offensive play (Morales) was out for the season. We would have been wise to move a few players for prospects rather than doing the exact opposite by trading Skaggs, Corbin, and Saunders for Dan Haren.

That infusion of talent, plus results from higher draft picks would have led to the team being in very good shape as soon as 2013 (our current core would be surrounded by far more talent now). I actually said this at the time as well and received the same response. Need to try to stay competitive constantly to keep the fanbase up. Problem is they rigged the rules of the draft to make it nearly impossible to have a dynasty anymore. The best a team can do is to alternate between being competive and horrible every other year like the Red Sox and, to a lesser extent, the Giants.
