When do you guys start bi***ing about Trout?

When they went 17-3 he was shouldering the load...Pujols was slumping...so was Calhoun.  The fact is its a team game and you need people to pick each other up.

The problem is:

Weaver is done and has an ERA near 5

Wilson is on the DL

Shoemaker is down and his "Strained Forearm" could be a ominous sign

Heaney is reaching his inning limit

Santiago has gone full retard the 2nd half of the season

Tropeano is talented but is clearly not ready

Appart from Street, there are no go-to options in the BP we can depend on nightly...Gott is still young, Smith caught Speier-Downs disease, Salas is f'n useless other than the fact he doesn't walk people, Bedrosian isn't ready, Rasmus can pitch (when healthy), Ramirez and Alvarez are both "meh" lefty options

Calhoun is a poor lead-off hitter but the best option even with a .320 OBP

Pujols is done-ski but he drag himself out there like an handicapped animal on rollers hoping to lean into a mistake while hoping not to kill another rally

Our Clean-up hitter is David F'n Murphy who platoons with the cadaver formally known as Vicorino who's main accomplishment lately has been testing the integrity of the outfield wall

Aybar is Aybar which isn't a difference maker

Ianetta is shit on both sides of the ball...Ramirez is a solid back-up who is starting

Featherton is a AAA hitter forced to play everyday due to Johnny G's unfortunate situation

and yet they still in the WC hunt...within reach with all this crap going down.  This can turn around just as easily as it can turn down

I agree that Trout needs to swing at the first pitch...and needs to K less...I'm sure he's heard it but maybe he's doing the best he can and there is nothing more he can do except continue to grind until he gets himself out of it.  Odds say he will at some point...hopefully soon

Career: .303 .395 OBP .950 OPS

2015: .294 .394 OBP .968 OPS

Trout has been Trout...sometimes other guys need to:

Not give up runs with 2 outs

Hit with runners on with 2 outs

Not suck at SP

Not suck out of the BP

Not suck when you are hitting and not named Trout

The Angels are close as they are because he HAS been Trout all season.

He hasn't been Trout the last six weeks.  And the Angels have gone from having the second best record in the AL to three games outside the wild card.  I don't care how he played in July, I care how he is going to play from now forward.  And the fact still remains he is more likely to be called out looking than to make the big hit we the team needs it.

Again, Trout is a stud at the end of the day, but you count on your best players to shoulder the load when others are struggling.

Trout has not been able to do that. He's been average at best and striking out at an alarming rate the last 5-6 weeks.

So lets get this straight.....

2015 with RISP Trout .342 / 1.193ops

2015 with RISP Pujols .228 / .731ops

And we are complaining about Trout? WTF?

Without Trout this team would be complete shit!

Wow! You have the pulse of the team. Sounds like Scioscia has done a good job keeping this team in contention.

Trout is going to have slumps ... but even when he's at his best you need a complete team effort to win. Hitting against major league pitchers is one of the hardest things to do in sports.

I have read post bi**ing about Scioscia, Moreno, Pujols, the pitching, the 7-9 hitters (rightfully so).  When do you guys start bi***ing about Trout?  It is no coincidence that the Angels slump has coincided with Trout's slump.  He is the best player in the league.  He is our MVP.  Yet he has completely tanked.  And so the Angels have tanked.  MVP"s are supposed to step up and carry their team through a playoff hunt.  Trout is hiding.  Yes, he has hit better the last two weeks and coincidentally so has the Angels. Yet he is not rising up to his greatness and carry this team into the playoffs.  Case in point:  The last two losses, one against the Rangers and one last night against the Dogs.  In both cases Trout comes up in the 9th inning representing the tying run.  In both cases Trout strikes out looking.  Out of the six strikes called on Trout during those two critical ABs, he swung once.  ONCE!  I can understand flying out, grounding out, hell even striking out swinging.  But he goes down looking.  Great players do not keep the bat on their shoulders.  We very easily could be one game behind the Rangers and three behind Houston.  Instead Trout keeps the bat on his shoulders!  What the hell happened to him?

After this season, that's up for question

Superstars of teams are supposed to carry teams when the rest of the lineup is slumping. Trout has not been able to do that down the stretch when we needed him the most, unfortunately.

BTW, this is NOT a Trout bashing thread. This is just calling it like it is. Dude is lost at the plate. Unfortunately nobody else is picking up the slalck except Calhoun and of all people of late, FEATHERSTON!!!!!

Haven't read the thread but I've been bitching about Trout for about a month. The dude has been terrible for over a month. Its like he forgot how to play baseball. **** him and the horse he rode in on - he's not exempt when he's sucking during the height of the pennant race.

Agreed.

If Trout is just, well, Trout, we're 5-6 games better in the win column IMHO right now. That's enough to put us ahead of Texas for the final WC spot.

Maybe if we roid him up people will appreciate him more. Yep .358 / 65hrs / 135rbi's / 1250ops....... That might get a few claps around here. I hope he demands a trade and gets the hell away from loserville.

You do realize you're the same guy that tried to compare Trout's numbers to Luis Gonzalez's numbers, right?
