Curious as to what everyone thinks of his comment that America shouldn't elect a Muslim president. I disagree with the vilification of Muslims that is so widespread. But at the same time, I don't think I would vote (a second time) for a Muslim presidential candidate. I applaud Carson's honesty.

I think we'll have to disagree on what "smartness" is.

 

It is one thing to recognize that evolution isn't as much fact as a strongly supported theory, quite another to believe that the devil put it in Darwin's head to deceive humanity (and buried those fake dinosaur bones while he was at it). That's just crazy talk.

You can be smart and think dumb things. I'm not qualified to argue scientific issues so I won't comment, but I don't think his position is that there have never been any other species or that the world is a few thousand years old. There may be gradations of evolution skepticism.

I agree, although would put it more that there are different kinds of intelligence.

Anyhow, Carson said that the "adversary" put the idea in Darwin's head.
