Do you understand that the Angels simply cannot just pick up a player and have him come here and start performing?  What on earth do you think would have happened if we got Cespedes?  Lets forget the fact that we would have to trade Newcomb, Cespedes would have hit .220 here.

 

Stop complaining that Stoneman didnt get a bat.  He actually did the smart thing by not trading away prospects.  We had a lot of games where starters completely blew up and having a bat wouldnt have changed anything.  And like I said, the Angels and acquiring bats just doesnt work.  Unless they come up through our system, chances are whenever they get here their career is dead.

Good players will perform like good players. Ignoring tell tale signs like decrease in performance, age, obvious upcoming regression and clear holes in a guys swing is what did the Angels in with the acquisitions of Wells/Pujols/Hamilton. All signs pointed to those guys not being as successful here as they were on their previous team.
