8 reasons why the Angels will still make the playoffs

Hamels pitched wednesday night, we shouldn't see him this series. Sweeping the Rangers is a very real possibility.

I wouldn't say that it's a very real possibility. If they play like they did those last two games in Oakland then, yes that's true. It's amazing what happens when you play solid defense and have good at bats when you have a pitcher on the ropes early..

I guess reality hasn't sunk in yet for a few Angelswin fans.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for the Halos to make the playoffs....but more importantly, to ADVANCE in the playoffs.  They are not build for an October run.

I commend you for coming up with 8 reason why they will make the playoffs, but I can think of many more reasons why they won't.

My feeling is this:  we need to get a World Series win before 2020 or the team will definitely lose potentially one of the best players in the history of the sport.  Trout will walk if he doesn't get a ring here, period.   That my friends, makes me sad.

Hopefully a new GM, and potentially a new manager next year (fingers crossed), will shake things up, make intelligent signings in the offseason, and turn this team around.

Peace out...

The Rangers are now a darkhorse, with Hamels, a red hot Gallardo, and Lewis being joined recently by Holland and Perez to give them a solid 1 through 5 rotation for October.     Plus their retooled bullpen featuring Tolleson, Kela, and solid recent additions Diekman and Dyson, is underrated.

They have gone 15-5 to set themselves up nicely, just 2 in back of Houston and in front of the Twins for the 2nd WC spot.

"Still lots of delusional Angels fans I see."

It's OK, hell its pretty much necessary, to have hope if someone is going to be a baseball fan for life. So much can happen to even really good teams...that suffering through lousy luck, and lousy seasons, is what makes it all so sweet when the ball starts bouncing in the right way.

"Delusional" might be a bit harsh. Everyone needs hope.

If the Halos by a miracle became WS champs this season, I could handle the remaining 3 years on Scioscia's contract and MAYBE 4 more additional years, which would likely take him to 2,000 wins as a Halos manager.   That would put him in elite company, as only Mack, McGraw, Alston, and Cox have previously accomplished that with one team.

White Sox aren't a very good baseball team - they swept the Angels in August

Indians aren't a very good baseball team - they swept the Angels in August

It was said the Astros aren't a very good baseball team - they swept the Angels in July

Dodgers probably aren't a very good baseball team either - they swept the Angels in July/August

We did land on the moon and the earth isn't flat either
